Recipe For Cooking Butterscotch Bars

Butterscotch Bars

1 C. sifted flour
1 tea. baking powder
3/4 tea. salt
1 C. butterscotch morsels
1/4 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/2 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
1/2 C. chopped walnuts or pecans

Sift together sifted flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Melt butterscotch morsels and butter in top of double boiler; remove from heat and stir in brown sugar; let cool 5 min.

Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla extract or flavoring and mix well. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and chopped nuts. Turn into prepared 13 x 9-in. pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 min. Cut into squares while warm.
