Recipe For Cooking Cherry Eggnog Bars

Cherry Eggnog Bars2/3 C. margarine or butter 2 1/4 C. flour 1 C. sugar 2/3 C. milk 2 eggs 2 tea. baking powder 1/2 tea. ground nutmeg 1/4 tea. salt 1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring or 1/4 tea. rum flavoring 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped 1/2 C. chopped pecans 3/4 C. sifted powderedsugar 3 to 4 tea. milk Beat margarine or butter with an electric mixer on med. to high speed 30 seconds. Add 1 C. of the flour, the sugar, 2/3 C. milk, eggs, baking powder, nutmeg, salt and vanilla extract or rum flavoring. Beat 1 min. at med. speed. Beat in remaining flour at low speed. Stir in cherries and pecans. Spread in a greased 15 x 10 x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F about 25 min. Cool pan on a wire rack. Combine powderedsugar and enough of the 3 to 4 tea. milk to make of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cookies. Cut into bars. Makes 48.
