Recipe For Cooking Chocolate Toffee Bars

Toaster Oven Cookies :: Bar Cookies

Chocolate Toffee Bars

1 3/4 C. unsifted flour
3/4 C. brown sugar, packed
3/4 C. cold butter or margarine
1 (14 oz.) can chocolate sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
6 (1.4 oz.) milk chocolate-covered English
    toffee candy bars, cut into sm. pieces
1 C. chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees F for glass dish).

In med. bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press firmly on bottom of 13 x 9-in. baking pan. Bake 15 min.

Meanwhile, in med. bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla extract or flavoring; mix well. Spread evenly over prepared crust. Top with toffee pieces and nuts if desired. Bake 20 to 25 min. longer or until bubbly. Cool. Cut into bars. Store covered in refrigerator.
