Recipe For Cooking Black Forest Brownies

Toaster Oven Cookies :: Blondies and Brownies


Black Forest Brownies

1 1/3 C. flour
1 tea. baking powder
1/2 tea. salt
1 C. butter
1 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
4 eggs, well beaten
2 C. sugar
1 tea. almond extract or flavoring
1 1/2 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
1 C. maraschino cherries, chopped
1/2 C. walnuts, chopped

Icing
1/4 C. butter, softened
1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
2 C. powderedsugar
6 Tbsp. cocoa
1/4 C. milk
1/4 C. walnuts, chopped

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

In a saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat and stir in cocoa until smooth. Blend in eggs, sugar and extracts. Stir in flour mixture, cherries and nuts. Pour into a 13 x 9-in. pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 min.

To make icing, blend butter, vanilla extract, sugar, cocoa and milk in a bowl until smooth. Spread on hot brownies. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool.
