Toaster Oven Cookies :: Cookies that Use Cake Mix

Chocolate Cherry Bars

Base
1 (18.25 oz.) box devil\s food cake mix
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 tea. almond extract
2 eggs, beaten

Frosting
1 C. sugar
5 Tbsp. butter or butter substitute
1/3 C. milk
1 (6 oz.) package semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-in. pan.

In lrg. bowl, combine base ingredients. Stir by hand until well mixed. Pour into pan. Bake 25 to 30 min.

In sm. saucepan, combine sugar, butter and milk. Boil, stirring constantly, for one min. Remove from heat, stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over warm bars.
