Cheesy Chocolate C.cakes

Filling
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/3 C. sugar
1 egg
1/8 tea. salt
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips

In sm. mixer bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg and salt until smooth and creamy. Stir in chocolate chips. Set aside.

Variations
Valentine Filling: Add 4 to 5 drops of red food color to Filling.
Peanut Butter Chip Filling: Omit chocolate; stir in 1 C. peanut butter chips.

C.cakes
3 C. flour
2 C. sugar
2/3 C. Hershey\s cocoa
2 tea. baking soda
1 tea. salt
2 c. water
2/3 c. vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. white vinegar
2 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In lrg. mixer bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla extract or flavoring. On med. speed, beat 2 min. Fill paper-lined muffin c. (2 1/2 in. in diameter) 2/3 full with batter. Spoon 1 level Tbsp. Filling into center of each c.cake. Bake for 20 to 25 min. or until wooden pick inserted in cake portion comes out clean. Remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely.
