Recipe For Cooking Batter Buns
Toaster Oven Yeast Breads :: Dinner Rolls
Batter Buns2/3 C. warm water 1 pkg. dry yeast 2 Tbsp. sugar 1/2 tea. salt 1/4 C. soft vegetable shortening 1 egg 1 2/3 C. flour Measure water into mixing bowl. Add yeast, stirring to dissolve. Add sugar, salt, vegetable shortening, egg and 1 C. of the flour. Combine with mixer on low speed, guiding batter into beaters with rubber scraper. Add remaining flour. Beat until smooth. Spoon into prepared muffin C., filling each a scant 1/2 full. Let rise in warm place until batter reaches top of muffin C. (about 30 to 40 min.). Bake at 375 degrees F for 18 to 20 min. or until brown. Makes approximately 12 buns.
