Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies

1/2 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C. vegetable shortening
3 oz. cream cheese
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tea. salt
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 1/4 C. flour
1 1/2 tea. baking powder
2/3 C. chopped pecans

Cream butter, vegetable shortening, cream cheese and sugar together. Add egg, salt, milk and vanilla extract or flavoring; mix well. Stir in melted chocolate.

Sift flour with baking powder and add to batter a little at a time, mixing well. Stir in nuts. Drop by tea.ful onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 min.

Makes approximately 5 dozen.
