Amish Christmas Cookies

1/2 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. light molasses
1 egg, beaten
4 C. flour
1/4 tea. salt
1 tea. baking soda
1 tea. cinnamon
1 tea. ground cloves
1/2 tea. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets.

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in molasses and eggs.

Sift dry ingredients together and stir into molasses-egg mixture. Roll out dough on lightly floured board and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Bake for 10 to 12 min.
