Cornmeal BiscuitsPosted by kdipaolo at recipegoldmine.com 7/12/01 1:44:45 pm 1 1/2 C. flour 1/4 C. yellow cornmeal, plus 2 Tbsp. 2 tea. baking powder 3/4 tea. baking soda 3/4 tea. salt 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar 6 Tbsp. chilled butter or margarine 3/4 C. buttermilk, plus 1 Tbsp. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In med. bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar. Cut butter into flour until mixture is crumbly. Stir in 3/4 C. buttermilk until the mixture holds together. Roll to 1-in. thickness. Using a 2-in. round cutter, cut into 8 biscuits. Brush tops with the Tbsp. of buttermilk. Bake until golden and fluffy, about 12 min.
