Powder Cookies (Polvorones)

1 C. butter, softened
1/2 C. powderedsugar
2 1/2 C. sifted flour
1/2 tea. vanilla extract

Cream butter and powderedsugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add flour and vanilla extract or flavoring; mix well. Chill for 5 hr..

Roll out on floured surface. Cut into 1-in. cookies. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 min.

Dust with additional powderedsugar while hot. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.
